How to play Ink Drop Checkers

  1. Move on dark squares. You start with 12 Cyra pieces and move first. An uncrowned piece moves one diagonal square toward Miro’s side.
  2. Take every required jump. Jump a neighboring opponent into the empty square beyond. If a capture is available, a normal move is unavailable. Choose any legal capture route, then finish every jump with that piece.
  3. Crown a king. Reach the far row to earn the yellow K. Kings move and jump diagonally in either direction, one square or one opponent at a time. Crowning ends that turn.
  4. Leave Miro without a move. Win by capturing all magenta pieces or blocking every legal move. Cyra follows the same rules.

This game uses English/American checkers movement rules. For casual browser play, it automatically draws on a third occurrence of the same board and player to move, or after each side has made 40 moves without a capture or an uncrowned-piece move.

Checkers questions

Why can’t I move a different piece?

A capture takes priority over a normal move. Once a multi-jump begins, keep using that piece until its legal jump sequence ends. The highlighted landings and move buttons show your choices. Use Undo turn to take back an unfinished jump.

Can a piece jump backward?

An uncrowned Cyra piece moves and captures toward Miro’s side. A king can move and capture both forward and backward. Kings do not fly across the board. If a jump crowns a piece, its turn ends there.

Does this checkers game save?

Completed turns and your opponent level save locally when browser storage is available. Return in the same browser to resume. An unfinished multi-jump resumes from the start of that turn. Clearing site data removes the save; private browsing may not retain it.

How does Undo turn work?

Undo takes back your most recent turn and any reply Miro has made. You can also undo while Miro is thinking. An unfinished jump can be taken back before completing the turn. Completed-turn undo history stays in memory and resets after use, reload or a new game.
